Dear Friends,

Donell Hill, David Sinaiko, Derek Fischer,
and Anjali Vashi in The Bald Soprano

Cutting Ball's 10th Anniversary Season has already surpassed our expectations. Both The Bald Soprano and Marcus Gardley's ...and Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi broke all previous records for box office and attendance making them the two best-selling productions of our ten-year history!

Nothing would have pleased me more than to finish our season with Associate Artistic Director Paige Rogers' tour de force performance in Eugenie Chan's Bone to Pick and the newly commissioned companion piece Diadem. In February, our readings of these two plays were huge hits at New Dramatists in New York City. Unfortunately, Paige has been suffering with vertigo for over two months and, as much as we hoped she would be better by opening, her doctors recommended that she stop working so hard and rest. As a result, we have postponed Bone to Pick and Diadem until next season.

In place of the new shows, we are bringing back a hit from last season, Samuel Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape. Paul Gerrior will be stepping into the title role once again. After playing to sold-out houses last season, we have always regretted the fact that we didn't extend the show. Once the last slot in our season opened up, the choice for filling it was obvious.

Here are just two of many wonderful reviews from last years' Krapp's Last Tape:

"To watch Gerrior's quietly mesmerizing performance is a revelation."

"Paul Gerrior is a pitch-perfect Krapp."

We hope you can join us for our final play of our 10th Anniversary Season. Please spread the word to your friends about this rare opportunity to see one of Beckett's most important plays interpreted brilliantly by one of Cutting Ball's longtime collaborators.

Most of all, thank you so much for supporting The Cutting Ball Theater. This has been an incredibly important year for us and we could not have done it without your help.

Sincerely,

Rob Melrose
