Volunteer/Intern for The Cutting Ball
The Cutting Ball Theater is always looking for driven, enthusiastic interns to work closely with our staff and artists.
We are accepting interns and volunteers for the following positions:
- Arts Administration
- Marketing / Social Media
- Development
- Directing
- Literary / Dramaturgy
- Stage Management
- Design (Sets, Costumes, Sound & Lights)
These positions vary in time commitment but average 5-10 hours a week and can be flexible regarding a work or class schedule. These are unpaid internships.

Stage Manager Internship Opening for 2013-2014 Season:
The stage management internship provides a unique opportunity to learn all aspects of the work of a professional stage manager in a theatrical setting. Beginning with attendance at production meetings, the intern will act as Assistant Stage Manager on all three of the main productions along with stage managing the five plays within the RISK IS THIS… Cutting Ball New Experimental Plays Festival and six additional Hidden Classics Reading Series events. Under the supervision of the Production Stage Manager, the SM intern assists in all aspects of preparing for rehearsals, techs and show runs. SM Intern will work with the PSM on drafting and managing schedules, learn AEA rules and regulations and attend networking events.
As a CB intern, you will be encouraged to not only work in your chosen field of study but also to delve into other areas of the production if necessary. Good communication skills, a highly organized and creative personality, and a sense of humor are essential. Position begin early September 2013 and run through late June 2014. Computer and word processing skills are an asset.
Credits are available. Transportation Stipend: $1,500
Details of time commitment:
Rehearsals often take place on weekdays in the evenings from 7pm – 10pm and weekend days in the afternoon.
Shows run Thursday at 7:30pm, Friday/Saturday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 5pm.
