Cutting Ball Corrections Policy

Effective date: August 17, 2026
Last reviewed: August 17, 2026

Cutting Ball aims to publish accurate, current, and clearly sourced sportsbook information. We welcome correction requests from readers, operators, regulators, researchers, and other subject-matter experts.

A correction request does not guarantee removal of a supported conclusion. It does guarantee that a specific, evidence-based claim can be reviewed through a defined process.

How to submit a correction

Send the request via our contact page.

Include:

  1. The exact Cutting Ball page URL
  2. The specific sentence, table entry, rating, or claim in question
  3. Why it is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
  4. The proposed correction
  5. A primary or authoritative supporting source
  6. The date the source was checked
  7. Your name and relationship to the subject, if relevant
  8. Any conflict of interest or commercial relationship

Do not send passwords, seed phrases, private keys, full payment-card numbers, or unredacted identity documents.

What we consider

We assess:

  • Source authority
  • Date of the source
  • Whether the source controls the issue
  • Whether the article accurately described the information available at publication
  • Whether the underlying operator term changed later
  • Whether a statement is presented as fact, opinion, inference, or reader report
  • Whether the requested change would materially affect a rating or conclusion

Types of changes

Minor edit

A spelling, grammar, formatting, or broken-link correction that does not change meaning. A visible correction note is generally unnecessary.

Factual correction

A verifiable factual error in the published page. Material factual corrections receive a visible note.

Terms update

A sportsbook changed a bonus, payment method, limit, fee, rule, location restriction, or other condition after publication. This is usually identified as an update rather than an original editorial error.

Editorial clarification

Wording is revised to improve source attribution, scope, uncertainty, or context without changing the core fact.

Rating or conclusion change

New evidence materially changes the score, recommendation, regulatory assessment, or consumer warning. The page should include a prominent note explaining the basis for the change.

Retraction

A page or material claim is withdrawn because the central premise cannot be supported, the evidence was fabricated, or continued publication would be seriously misleading. Retractions should remain visible and explain the reason when legally and ethically appropriate.

Material correction notes

A correction note should answer:

  • What was wrong or incomplete?
  • What is correct now?
  • When was it changed?
  • Did it affect the rating or conclusion?

Example:

Correction – August 17, 2026: An earlier version stated that the minimum crypto withdrawal was $50. The operator’s current cashier and help page list a $75 minimum. The banking table and FAQ have been corrected. The overall rating did not change.

Changed operator terms

Sportsbook terms can change after a page is published. A page is not necessarily inaccurate because a later promotion or banking rule differs from the one that was correctly documented on the original date.

When a term changes, we should:

  • Update the current information
  • Retain the original publication date
  • Add a meaningful update date
  • Add a changelog entry when the change is material
  • Avoid implying that old screenshots represent current terms

Opinions and editorial judgments

A disagreement with a score, comparison, or conclusion is not automatically a factual error.

Cutting Ball will review whether the opinion is based on accurate facts, stated methodology, and reasonable interpretation. We will not remove a supported criticism merely because it is unfavorable to an affiliate partner or operator.

Reader reports and complaints

A reader report is not treated as confirmed fact unless independently verified. If an article inaccurately presents an allegation as established fact, that attribution can be corrected.

Readers reporting an operator issue should use Report a Sportsbook Problem.
