Position Title: Front of House Associate

Reports to: Patron Experiences Director

Location: Onsite at EXIT on Taylor: 277 Taylor Street, San Francisco, CA

Pay Rate & Benefits:

  • $20/hour
  • Sick Time (1hr accrued for every 30hrs worked)

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum four hour shifts

    • Fall Production: Rossum’s Universal Robot
      • Training & Previews: Early October 2023
      • Opening & Performances: October 20-November 26th, 2023 (includes possible two week extension)
        • Thursdays: 5:30pm-9:30pm
        • Fridays: 6:30pm-10:30pm
        • Saturdays: 6:30pm-10:30pm
        • Sundays: 12:30pm-4:30pm
        • One Wednesday shift on Oct. 18th: 5:30pm-9:30pm
        • One early performance on Thursday, Nov. 2nd: 2:30pm-6:30pm
    • Winter Production: Co-Pro TBD
      • Training: Early December, 2023
      • Performances: Mid-December, 2023
      • Strike & Turnover: Late-December, 2023
    • Winter New Works Festival: Variety Pack
      • Training & Performances: February 2024
      • Strike & Turnover: end of February 2024
    • Spring Production: The Soul Never Dwells In A Dry Place
      • Training & Previews: Early April 2024

Position Description: The Front of House Associate provides excellent customer service to patrons during performances and assists with audience Covid safety. The front of house team consists of the Patron Experiences Director/ House Manager, and two front of house associates rotating shifts between box office and concessions/merch sales management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up front of house including box office and concessions/merch counter 
  • Ensure appropriate signage is up and lobby video is on
  • Check-in patrons during will call
  • Sell/process payments for at door ticket sales, raffle tickets and merch.
  • Maintain audience mask compliance for all patrons in the building.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lobby, vestibule, house and restroom.
  • Assist House Manager with seating audience before performances and after intermission.
  • Fill out a House Report for every performance.
  • Count and record cash sales.
  • Clean glassware and take inventory of supplies.

Required Abilities:

  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Available to work onsite in downtown San Francisco.
  • Ability to multitask while working as a part of a team.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Cash handling/counting experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Basic computer skills (Macbook knowledge a plus)
  • Experience with Excel a plus
